# Inbox notifications and preferences

Tune Inbox notifications while keeping read state and task actions explicit.

Open Inbox preferences from your account controls to choose which attention events should notify you. Keep the feed as the authoritative list of active requests: a notification is a reminder, not a task receipt or approval.

Opening or scrolling through a card does not mark it read. Use the card's explicit action when you have replied, completed the request, or dismissed it. Completed and recipient-dismissed items appear in History. Sender and reason lines explain why an item is in your feed.

If an item refers to a Project or review you cannot open, request access to the underlying Resource; workspace membership, agent grants, and provider access are separate checks. Technical identifiers are available in the item's Technical details dialog.
