# Workspaces and navigation

Understand the personal or team workspace, global Inbox, and where Reviews, Projects, Research, and settings live.

Every authenticated Commentary user has one durable personal workspace and one account Inbox. A workspace can be personal or team-based; provider sessions and browser cookies do not create extra personal workspaces.

Workspace opens **Reviews**, with Recent, Pull requests, Branches, and All reviews. **Coordinate** contains Projects and Trackers. **Research & knowledge** contains Research studies, Forms, and Knowledge. Sources and Workspace settings follow; Members, Agents, Automation, Governance, and Developer tools are under Settings. Workspace activity is a secondary destination.

Inbox remains a global peer destination across authorized workspaces. Switching workspaces changes the selected workbench, not your account identity or provider connection. Check the displayed workspace name, kind, and your role before creating or sharing an object.

Workspace links associate Resources without copying them or granting source access. Membership, agent grants, provider connection, and repository permission remain separate authorization checks. See [Projects](/docs/use/projects) and [Inbox](/docs/use/inbox).
